This is a very well designed set in one of Lego's best lines. It also makes a great gift at this price.

Lego's Creator line is one of my favorites because the sets avoid the use of really specialized pieces and, instead, focus on the creative use of more basic pieces. This is much closer to the way Lego sets were when I grew up. You can, of course, buy the bulk Lego sets, but I find those boxes provide too many 2x4 bricks and not enough of other key elements. Creator sets like this one provide a great mix of very useful pieces, often in colors

Just received today after ordering on December 15th, shipped from Hong Kong. Toy is plastic junk, doesn't have any written directions just pictures. Toy didn't fit together properly, so my son couldn't complete it. Very upset and disappointed. Don't waste your money!

Garbage...avoid

Purchased for my 10 year old for 2011 xmas.
Parts are very small and difficult to assemble.
Molded parts were deffective, with missing core pins that prevented proper assembly (Part B19 specifically)
Solar panel failed to work as well.
This junk is going back.

The solar battery is not sensitive, have to put it under very strong sunshine. In China, only worth $1. the $2's toy is better than this. Do not be fooled by the images like me.

Fragile, didn't work

Many small parts that can get lost easy. The wire connecting the gear fell apart and I had to splice it together. My 8 year old was very frustrated and gave up. It worked few seconds and never worked again, even after I worked with replacing wires and fitting together again. Not worth the money or frustration.

I am uncertain this device works at all

I got 3 of these kits for my nephews and science education that I am currently involved in. I was really excited about them, but have been disappointed when trying them out. I tried putting together one of the kits, but could never get the solar panel to get the motor moving. I held the panel very close to 100 W halogen bulb in addition to trying it outside on a sunny day with no luck. I tried components from the duplicate kits I ordered with no luck. I can not get motion out of these at all. Using my multimeter I get fairly low readings for the voltage and current output under the lamp
